Dr Sahar Alkassab

Principal Dentist

Dr Sahar Alkassab is our principal dentist & co-owner of MedicFirst.

Dr Alkassab is also the founder of Alkassab Dental Surgery in Stockland Point Cook Shopping Centre. 

She graduated from Baghdad University in 1989 and had a particular interest in oral surgery.  She opened and worked in 3 clinics in Baghdad and Beirut before moving to Australia in 2003. 

Dr Alkassab became a member of the Australian Dental Association and a fellow in 2006. 

Dr Alkassab opened up her first private practice, Alkassab Dental Surgery, in 2008 and is proud to have provided the very best care for each of her of patients. 

In 2020, Dr Alkassab opened up her second practice, MedicFirst. 

She is currently working between both of her clinics whilst mentoring her associate dentists. 

She has established a commitment to continuing education. She takes many hours of continuing education courses each year, ranging from orthodontics and implants to 3D CBCT imaging, with an emphasis on high quality and the most up to date treatment methods. 

Dr Sahar has a special interest in oral surgeries, orthodontics and cosmetic dentistry. 

Dr Sahar is also known to be a great cook. Ask her for her special hazelnut cake recipe when you visit her!

Dr Firas Alhamdani

Dr Firas Alhamdani, MBchB FRACGP, is our head General Practitioner and co-owner of MedicFirst. He has been practicing in Point Cook for more than 12 years. Dr Firas graduated from Baghdad University in 1989. He is well equipped with more than 30 years of experience in various fields of medicine. He fled his country, Iraq, after the Gulf war and arrived in Australia in 2002. Dr Firas is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. He is also an associate member of the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery.

His main interests are in:

  • Family Medicine
  • Pediatric Medicine
  • Mental Health
  • Minor surgical procedures (e.g. ingrown toenail)
  • Skin Cancer Surgery
  • Implanon insertion and removal
  • Lipoma excision
  • Variety of lumps and bumps removal

 Dr Firas’ main hobby is playing and watching soccer and is a big Liverpool supporter.  

Dr Marina Nassim

Dr Nassim has over 20 years experience as a GP in Russia, UK and Australia.

Having practiced in Point Cook for 12 years, Dr Marina Nassim is one of the most well known and well loved GPs in Point Cook.

Her special interests are:

  • Antenatal Care. She is registered as a Shared Care provider with Werribee Mercy Hospital, Sunshine Hospital and Royal Women’s Hospital.
  • Women’s Health (Contraception, Fertility issues, Sexual issues, HRT, Breast issues)
  • Newborn baby checks, antenatal checks/issues
  • Paediatrics
  • IUD and Implanon insertions and Removals
  • Dermatology (acne, eczema, psoriasis, mole/Skin Cancer check)
  • Mental Health (Eating Disorders, Sexual issues in adolescents, Anxiety/Depression)

Dr Zainab Hussain

Dr Zainab completed her medical training in Iraq graduating in 1994.
After immigrating to New Zealand in 2001, she pursued a career in General Practice and subsequently gained her fellowship from the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners in 2017. In addition to her Specialist training, she obtained a certificate in proficiency in Paediatric Emergency Medicine at Auckland University.
Her special areas of interest are minor surgical procedures including Iron Infusions, as well as Women’s & Childrens Health. Dr Zainab is a busy mum with two children, however loves to swim during her free time.

 

Dr Ashish Mathur

Dr Ashish is a UK trained General Practitioner with extensive clinical experience, having qualified in 2001.

He is a specialist GP having completed his membership exams with the Royal College of General Practitioners UK and is now a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

He has gained extensive hospital experience in General Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Psychiatry and Emergency Medicine prior to qualifying as a specialist GP.

His main aim is to provide holistic and empathetic approach to patient care. He is passionate about management of chronic medical conditions, improving patient lives and outcomes.

He is multilingual with proficiency in English, Hindu, Urdu and Punjabi. Approachable to patients of all cultural backgrounds and ages, he is motivated to discover patients health priorities and supports them in reaching their goals.

Dr Ashish moved to Australia in 2016, lives locally with his family and been consulting at Point Cook ever since.

Dr Bhaskar has over 50 years experience, worked across the Western suburbs a majority of his professional career. He also speaks multiple languages to cater for the areas demographic population

Dr Rokon Ahmmad

General Practitioner

Dr Rokon Ahmmad is a Specialist in General Practice, with over 10 years of experience in general practice. Before starting General Practice, he worked five years in hospitals around Australia. He completed GP training in Australia. Dr Rokon has gone on to develop a wide range of experience in general practice, with a special interest in General Medicine including Chronic Disease Management, Child Health, Skin disease, falls and fracture, Wound management, Child and Adult immunisation, as well as antenatal care. Dr Rokon performs minor surgeries including skin lesion removal, and cryotherapy. A keen listener and truly empathetic, Dr Rokon is going to be a welcome addition to the Saltwater Coast community.
He is a keen Table Tennis player and organises sports and games within the Point Cook community. He also enjoys travelling and he has wealth of knowledge in Travel Medicine (When we get back to travelling again!)

Dr Laleh Marvasti

Dental Practitioner

Dr Laleh is our new and experienced dental surgeon. She is local to the area and is a mother of two. She qualified from Kings College London in 2003 with distinction. Her  healthcare philosophy is to treat the person, not just the teeth, and she is gentle and  conservative in her approach and is happy to see children. 

 

She has practiced in London Private and Public centres, Tehran state of the art clinics as well as Melbourne.  She has a range of expertise from beautiful long lasting white restorations to gum care, root canal treatment and Aesthetics Dentistry. 

Laleh has completed several aesthetic dentistry courses in London and is up to date with evidence based dentistry . Smile design is one of her favourite areas as well as preserving the living tooth and she has published several research papers in these topics.  

She is familiar with modern dentistry, long lasting solutions for your teeth as well as treating nervous patients and young children with ‘pain free’ dentistry.

Dr Laleh has a special interest in aesthetic dentistry, including inlay/onlay, veeners and crowns.

Dr Mo El Hazek

Dr Mo is a highly competent general dental practitioner with a special interest in root canal treatment. His passion for endodontics began early in his career driving him to attain a Masters in Endodontics in Egypt in 2009.

He enjoys all aspects of endodontic treatment including:

  • Re-treatment of root canals
  • Teeth with complex anatomies
  • Peri-apical surgeries

Dr Mo is a member of the Australian Society of Endodontology and a member of the American Association of Endodontics.

Vicki Foord

Dietitian – Eat For Wellness 

Vicki is an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) and Sports Dietitian graduated from the University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics. She is the Founding Director of Eat for Wellness, a private practice based in Melbourne.

She has over 9 years of experience in Nutrition and has a special interest in weight loss management and have helped many individuals achieve their health and well-being goals. Vicki’s other areas of expertise include diabetes management, gut health, IBS management (Monash University Low FODMAP certified) and Pre/Postnatal Nutrition. 

Vicki’s interest in food developed at a young age. With a father as a chef, she spent majority of her time in the kitchen. She loves cooking, experimenting with new foods, developing recipes and motivating others to eat well and stay well. 

Vicki believes that healthy eating is not about dieting or depriving yourself of your favourite foods – it is more about eating everything in moderation.

Casey Szaters

Physiotherapist – Complete Care Physiotherapy

Casey has always had a passion for being healthy and active, and loves to help others achieve these goals. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Human Biology before completing her Masters in Physiotherapy, and therefore prides herself on knowing the human body inside and out.

Casey employs an individualised approach to care, combining hands-on techniques and exercise based on the needs of each person. She has a special interest in women’s/pelvic health, including pre- and post-partum care. In addition, Casey enjoys working with lower limb injuries, and is experienced in working with both men’s and women’s amateur AFL teams. While at university, she undertook additional study in ongoing concussion management.

When she’s not working, Casey enjoys running, gardening, and baking.
